
The 2011 Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship is, for the first time, extended to include every country on the African continent. From the humble beginnings of 5 countries in 2007, the competition now includes every country in Africa.
The 2011 Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship is open for entries as from May 31st, 2011 and it was launched in Nairobi, Johannesburg, Lagos and Cairo. The Africa Awards will conclude with an expanded Gala Awards Event in conjunction with a high-profile conference on entrepreneurship; CONVERGENCE: AFRICA on December 8th 2010 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The objectives of the Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship are:
To promote the value of entrepreneurship as a driving force of today’s Africa
To celebrate the standards of business excellence within Africa
To encourage small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to embrace the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship
To build strong networks of African entrepreneurs as a source of learning and sharing of best practice
To attract more venture capital inflows towards good businesses across Africa

The Africa Awards invites organizations and individuals who share a committed interest to the promotion of entrepreneurship in Africa to join us as partners; we welcome governmental, public or private institutions.
